Gebed. Baie dankie Vader, dat Jesus nog steeds daar is om my te help as ek wil sink. Amen. Revelation 12:10 - "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." You will be a miserable Christian if you don’t learn the difference between Holy Spirit conviction and Satanic accusation. When the Holy Spirit convicts you of a sin, He will not just make you feel bad all over. He will put His finger right on the sore spot and push. He will convict you specifically and He will convict you legitimately. Now if the devil doesn't convict you of all your sins in general, he will try to accuse you of a specific sin for which you have already been forgiven. And he will fight a losing battle because if you put your sin under the blood of Jesus Christ and it comes up again, it’s not God bringing it up. Are you under conviction or accusation today about an un-confessed sin?
Read Revelation 12:9-11. Claim the powerful blood of Jesus to cover your sin. Repent and believe! When we read a command in the Bible, whether we understand it or not, we ought to obey it. The Bible is not first and foremost a book to be explained, it is a book to be believed and obeyed.
So many times we want to tell God how He ought to do things. I can imagine those early apostles when they first met Paul persecuting believers. Those well-meaning Christians could have been praying for God to strike Paul dead - But what did God do? He struck him alive! And aren't you glad He did? Don't substitute human reasoning for obedience. God says, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Hosea had a wife whose name was Gomer. She not only committed immorality, but she finally ended up as a prostitute on the street. In the strength of the Lord, Hosea went to her, reclaimed her, forgave her, remarried her and restored her as his bride. What a picture of the restoration of our Lord with us! God has promised to restore us from all the pains of our past, the heartaches from broken relationships, the struggles from defeat, and the frustrations of our lives. All the times we felt broken beyond repair, God has promised to restore. God is in the business of restoring His children into beautiful works of His holiness. ACTION POINT: Is there someone in your life who has wandered from the faith and felt the abandonment of friends and family? If so, go to that person today and encourage them in the love of Jesus. |
